Acetate Tow
Acetate Tow is a cellulose-based filamentous material primarily used in the production of cigarette filters. It is made from cellulose acetate, a semi-synthetic polymer derived from wood pulp. Acetate Tow is known for its excellent filtration properties, which help reduce harmful substances in cigarette smoke. The manufacturing process involves dissolving cellulose pulp in acetic acid, and then extruding it through fine nozzles to create long filaments. These filaments are bundled together to form the final product known as Acetate Tow. Cigarette manufacturers use this material to create filters that trap particulates and provide a smoother smoking experience.
